Dermatologists Inform You How To Select The Proper Anti-Aging Skin Care Treatments

By Jennifer Lucas

I recently decided to get some recommendations from skin care doctors on what to look for and how to properly shop for skin care regimens. After all, with so many items flooding the market promising to be the answer to all of my problems, I find it daunting to figure out which ones work and which do not. The information below will change how you shop for anti-aging products forever.

Sunscreen and a moisturizer are the first tip provided. These two are the most important part of any skin care program. If these are not included in your plan, you should probably reconsider what you are doing. Any skin care doctor worth a second of your day will admit that the use of these two items are vital and will provide the most noticeable results.

Make it a point to be positieve to attempt to look for sun protectants that has an SPF 30 or better, a broad spectrum, and is water proof. It is vital to use only sunscreen that has all of the above mentioned features and not just one or two.

Do you know what the backbone of all skin care regimens is? I do. The moisturizer that is included in the solution is the most crucial factor. According to skin doctors, the reason all anti-aging solution is focused on moisturizers is the fact that your skin becomes dryer with age and causes your skin to stop stretching. This is the main cause of wrinkles.

Most people will want to minimize their anti-aging treatment costs. To assist you with this, I do want to make sure that everyone knows that you can usually get two products in one by shopping for a moisturizer that has sunscreen built in.

The next piece of advice is to stay focused. You should focus on treating one problem at a time. With that being said, you should probably make a list of your aging concerns and prioritize them. Remedy your number one concern first and move downward. Use the moisturizer and sunscreen for 3 or 4 weeks, and then look at yourself in the mirror. Do you see a difference? If so, continue use but move on to the next concern.

One good reason to focus on one thing at a time is to prevent looking older. The act of focusing on one problem and then the next will keep you from using too many products and irritating your skin which causes age spots. Also, reduce stress which causes wrinkles by not becoming overwhelmed looking for a miracle product to take care of it all.

One of the most important recommendations I have gotten from dermatologists has been to identify your skin type before you go shopping. What I mean is that you need to know if your skin is dry, oily, or sensitive. Knowing these things about yourself will allow you to buy products that will help you. Remember, no product works for everyone when it comes to skin care.

As for the fourth tip, skin doctors suggest you look at the label of any anti-aging skin care solutions and look for three things. One thing you should look for is a product that has a customer hot line on the label. This will let you know that the manufacturer is reputable by having a phone line dedicated for questions.

Secondly, you should see if the label states it is non-acnegenic. Non-acnegenic products have a severely reduced risk of causing excessive oil build up that causes acne. The final thing you are looking for to be printed on the label is if it is hypoallergenic. Nobody wants to have an allergic reaction.

The next piece of advice is to set goals, but make sure your expectations are within grasp. Reasonable expectations are important. Remember, there are many products that claim overnight results of a 10 year younger look. This is unlikely and you need to realize what is realistic and what is not and base your results off of that.

My last piece of advise for the day is to select a product inside of your budget. Often times people today believe that the more expensive the better. Skin care products come in all price ranges so it is crucial not to cause more aging looks by adding stress because you are buying something you can not afford.
