Botox Tips Offered By New Jersey Spa

By Andreas Paschar

On the surface, cosmetic regimens and neurotoxins do not seem to be compatible. That relationship changed when it was discovered that the deadly output of the Clostridium botulinum bacterium can be used to relax facial wrinkles. Cosmetic use soared, and today a New Jersey Botox spa is offering tips for people interested in experiencing the process.

Many people have reported dramatic results. The areas showing most improvement are those affected by emotions that employ facial muscles, including frowns, squints, or smiles. The substance has no effect on old-age skin wrinkles, which respond best to moisturizers and similar products. Too much can literally rob the face of normal expression.

Although previously available only through doctors, many spas now offer this service. A physician is still legally required for supervision, but actual work is done by associated technicians. Any procedure involving an injection is considered medically invasive, and low cost should not be the only determinant. Complications occur, but are rare.

Prior to scheduling injections, the resident physician must know about additional medications or herbal supplements taken daily, in addition to information about chronic allergies or other health issues. Those who have recently undergone surgery are advise to delay this regimen, as are pregnant women who are avoiding all drugs.

NSAID pain relievers may encourage bruising, and are not recommended post-injection. Heavy alcohol use should be curtailed, and most doctors advise against strenuous physical exercise for a day afterward. If bruising becomes an issue, addition measures may be necessary. The doctor should be informed of any unexpected results immediately.

Education is the best preparation for having a good experience. Ask the doctor as many questions as necessary before signing on. When skillfully administered, the undesirable wrinkles smooth out almost immediately, and the face looks younger and smoother. Results diminish gradually, and a touch-up may be necessary in a few months.
