Methods Used For Hair Restoration DE

By Douglas Sanders

Medical hair restoration methods and transplantation have been researched for decades on end. The estimation is that almost 90 percent of all men do experience some form of male pattern baldness at one point. There however is some variance that is based on medical and genetic factors. When considering hair restoration DE residents should know the various techniques that can be used. There are two categories of treatment, surgical and non-surgical.

The non-surgical treatment options will require no actual transplantation and have been in use for many years in many forms. Most of these treatments are however ineffective in restoring hairs and waste money in most cases. In recent years however, two drugs have emerged that have proved to be effective and affordable. As a matter of fact, only two drugs are approved by the FDA which treat hair loss.

The first is known as finasteride. It is prescription only and will restore hair effectively. It gets marketed under the name propecia and is taken as a pill on a daily basis. It will lead to regrowth after a number of months. The drug is however not supposed to be used by pregnant women or those planning to get pregnant. It is known to cause birth defects in unborn children. As a result, women should neither use nor handle it because it is able to get absorbed by the skin.

The second drug is called Minoxidil. It is used by both men and women and is marketed as Rogaine. Rogaine is a topical treatment that gets applied on the scalp daily to help in promoting growth of hairs. It comes with varying results but which will be realized after several months. Both options are easy to use and will be effective in different degrees. They however have a downside in that should one stop using them, the hairs that had grown will be lost.

Over time, surgical methods are becoming more are more common. There are a number of surgical options individuals can consider. Hair transplant surgery is very common and is preferred by most people. It is not as invasive as compared to other techniques. It has excellent results in most patients that use it. After years of research, it has become easier to do and also safer.

As to the method that is most suitable for an individual, there is n definite technique. To know the best technique, the doctor has to do proper diagnosis of the root cause of hair loss. It also depends on what a patient can afford and how patient they are when it comes to realizing results.

Non-surgical methods are more easily applied and are discreet when compared to surgical methods. Besides, the medications are more easy to get over the counter especially when it comes to Rogaine which is not prescription. They are not effective for everybody and will take time to realize results.

The use of surgery to restore hair will be costlier and require additional effort from patients. The time taken for recovery will vary depending on which surgical method was used. Procedures that are more invasive take slightly more time to heal and will also be easily visible.
