Corrective Hair Color Can Be A Tricky Thing

By Kevin Price

There are very few women in the world that has not colored their hair at least one time in their lifetime. Sometimes it works out great, sometimes it does not. It really depends on what is trying to achieve. Many women hear the saying blondes have more fun and try to lighten their natural color to have the color they really want. Most of the time, they will try an over the counter dye and they will not end up with the blonde that is shown on the box. When this happens, they will run to a salon to get a corrective hair color treatment.

When someone that is a medium or dark brunette, switching over to a blonde can be very frustrating. Most of the time, the blonde on the box is nothing close to what happens. Doing a drastic dye job by yourself rarely goes as planned. When a dye that is more than two shades is used, it will often turn out very brassy and have an orange tint.

Going to a salon has many benefits. They have the correct solutions and chemicals, not to mention the conditioners to help keep it as healthy as it could possibly be. There are some salons in Odessa, Florida that specialize in changing shades in the right way. They often take walk in clients or you can make an appointment with your favorite hairdresser.

There are other things to consider when trying to change color. First of all, an ash shade tends to have a blue or green tint. If someone tries to cover bleached blonde shade with a brown or darker blonde that is an ash shade, it will more than likely be a blue or green dye job. It is really hard to overcome that kind of disaster alone without the help of a professional. Depending on how much damage has been done, it may need to be cut and dyed a few shades darker.

Colors will sometimes contain chemicals that will cause the end result to be blue or even have a green tint. The only way to fix this is to go to a professional, get the shade corrected and sometimes even get a haircut.

There are many ways to keep mistakes in coloring is by keeping to the natural shade. If the decision is made to change it, do not try anything drastic. If blonde is desired, either go to a professional hairdresser. If a darker shade is desired, slowly step up instead of just jumping in and turning it dark.

If a darker shade is used and it is too dark, it is really hard to get it back to being the way it was. This is another time to see a professional.

To be on the safe side, be sure to talk to a professional, go to a salon or beauty shop. This may cost a little more in the long run but will help keep bad mistakes to a minimum.
