Having tanned skin makes an individual to look good. This has made people to love having such kind of skin. Individuals are going to the beach to have a sun self tan without recommendation from a doctor, which can be disastrous. Others are also buying tanning lotions to achieve the much envied brown skin. There are however many disadvantages of sun self tanning.



Too much exposure to UV rays can be very disastrous to any individual. A person can end up developing different kinds of conditions and skin cancers like melanoma, which may not be treatable. In addition self skin tanning can lead to one damaging their immune system such that it is not functioning, as it should. An individual should do their research with respect to self tanning solutions before deciding to do it.

Sun self tanning or any other kind is not permanent. It will usually fade after a few weeks and since someone looked well having tanned skin, one is likely to do it again. This is like medicine doze that a person goes for every now and then. It can be very harmful especially if someone is sunbathing very often to have tanned and beautiful skin.



Self skin tanning poses a great danger to an individual. A person who does this is likely to age faster. In addition, premature wrinkles also start to appear in various parts of the body. The skin also begins to appear dry and rough due to exposure to harsh sun rays.

An individual tanning their skin using the sun on their self can also lead to a person developing sunburn. When a sunburn is not severe, it is not so bad but if a sunburn is extreme, it is very painful. The skin becomes red and an individual has to stay indoors for a period or wear a hat when going out so that sunburn can heal. This can led to one wasting a lot of time staying in doors to get well when they could be doing something more constructive.

Individuals have a certain skin color, which suits them best. Self skin tanning can lead to one losing the color of their skin and instead of being brown; it becomes red owing to exposure to the sun. It may be very difficult for one to find a way of regaining back their original skin color.

Several people have sensitive skin and are required not to expose themselves to too much sunlight for a long time. Some of this people do not follow the instructions of the doctor and they end up tanning their skin in sun rays due to their desire for beauty. They may thus develop serious blisters that can be very painful and take a long time to get well.

The desire for people to have beautiful brown skin has led them to turn to sun self tanning. Although one wants to be beautiful, they also have to evaluate it at what cost and make an informed decision. Self skin tanning can make the skin look good but one also has to be ready to face the consequences.
