The 2 Important Types Involved In Breast Implants

By Scott White

The breast implant is one type of prosthesis process which is being used in order to make some changes on the shape, contour, and size of the breasts. For the reconstructive plastic surgeries, the breast implants are placed in order to do the restoration of breasts, making it look more natural. These are often applied to patients who have undergone mastectomy or for chest walls that have congenital defects or deformities.

The devices being utilized for a breast implant are categorized into 3 different groups which include composite filler, saline solution, and silicone gel. But for the breast implants Michigan, two of these most common types are utilized for procedures done in a breast augmentation, mammoplasty, and breast reconstruction. And these types are the silicone implant, filled with gels, and a saline solution, filled with saline solution.

In Michigan, the most commonly used type for prosthesis by most devices is the saline implant for the augmentation of breasts. This is because the silicone filled implants have been restricted by the FDA for some reasons. Its technical goal is making it a lesser invasive technique of surgery to emplace an empty device through the small surgical incision.

In a surgical praxis, if implants are emplaced already in pockets, each of the device is then filled by surgeons with the saline solutions. Since the incisions that are inserted will require small and short sizes, it is expected that the resulting sizes of incision scars must be smaller and shorter as well. These are smaller than the common surgical scars having long incisions to be able to insert the gel.

Thus, when this is being compared to silicone gel types, it will surely be yielding much acceptable results specifically for an increase in size, and thus, it becomes smoother and also has a hemisphere contour and its texture becomes realistic. However, the patient may also be experiencing the side effects like having cosmetic problems. The problems would include wrinkling and rippling the envelope skins, and the lower pole stretches will be accelerated.

Aside from cosmetic problems, people may also be facing technical problems which include the visibility of implants and this would mean that it can be seen easily and felt if touched. Usually, cosmetic problems may occur only when a particular woman has a lesser number of tissues. Women who have undergone a post mastectomy are suggested to be implanted with silicone gels using prosthetic devices for both reconstruction and augmentation processes.

However, gels are types medical device technologies and these have five important generations. The generations are being defined based on the common techniques of a model manufacturing. In the first generation, materials used are rubber envelope sacs. These are affixed top chest walls for reducing the rotation of emplacements.

In second generation, a products functional development and aesthetic improvement are both featured. In third generation and fourth generation, sequential advancements of the manufacturing technology are focused. These would include elastomer coated shells so that gel bleed will decrease and will also have thicker filler gel.

And the last one is made from highly cohesive and high strength gel which most of the time will be eliminating the filler leakage occurrences. Silicone filler migrations from a pocket is also eliminated. Most commonly, the implants are referred as gummy bear implant for breasts, that is, similar to the gummy candies.
